Dear Members,

As you are aware, a NASSCOM delegation is visiting Japan from 13th - 15th June 2011. We would also like to inform you that Mr. Som Mittal, President - NASSCOM, would be delivering a Keynote Speech titled “Revitalizing Japan  - Partnering with India for transformation and globalization" at the Global ICT Summit on 14th June 2011 from 14:55 - 15:25 hrs. The key speakers at the event include KDDI Corporation, Fujitsu Limited, NEC Corporation, NTT Communications and Sony.

Global ICT Summit 2011 - “ICT for Empowering People's Ties in Rebuilding Japan”

“Global ICT Summit 2011 (GIS2011)”is hosted by NIKKEI Inc. and supported by Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications (MIC).

Dates: 13th & 14th June 2011

Venue: NIKKEI Hall (Ohtemachi, Tokyo, Japan)

Participation fee: Free (pre-registration required) (Registration Deadline – June 1 at 17:00 JST)

The main subject of the meeting is “ICT for Empowering People's Ties in Rebuilding Japan” to deal with how Japan can rebuild social infrastructure including electric power supply system, and ICT infrastructure to unite people, after the great earthquake inflicting devastating damage on eastern Japan last March. While suffering the damage, people have become aware that social media, such as Twitter and Facebook, were playing key roles in supplying many kinds of information on the earthquake, and significance of communication among suffering people in the disaster area is emphasized than ever. The people are now placing great expectations on ICT as social infrastructure bringing in human linkage, while they are anxious for rebuilding of physical infrastructure such as roads electric supply, and railways. The present Summit is intended to discuss roles to be played by ICT and policies to be sought hereafter and the like, based on lessons and reflections from the disaster in toto, by inviting executive managers of ICT relevant companies and policy makers from both inside and outside Japan.

Agenda - 59th India IT Club Meeting (2011/06/13)

Dear Members,

The 59th India IT Club meeting is scheduled on June 13th 2011 at the Embassy of India in Tokyo from 6 PM Japan time.

Som Mittal - NASSCOMA NASSCOM delegation, led by its President - Mr. Som Mittal - is visiting Japan from June 13th to 15th. They will join the India IT Club meeting on the 13th where Mr. Mittal shall share with us the latest on what's happening in the Indian IT and BPO industries. We shall also have a free flowing interaction with Mr. Mittal centering around IT opportunities in Japan. This will be followed by a networking dinner.
